In this class, we focus on the shoulder and the hip. Due to our modern sedentary lifestyle, I consider
these two areas to be amongst the most important to mobilize. In addition, dynamic yoga is a perfect
tool to balance strength and flexibility.
What can you expect in this class? Shoulder and hip opening vinasa flow is a dynamic class. We start
with a short relaxation which is followed by a slow warm-up. Then a little bit faster, more active part
begins and we hold the poses for a short period of time. At the end of the class, we spend more time
in shoulder and hip opening poses.
During the class, we "flow" from one asana to the other in coordination with breathing. The mind is
focused on breathing and movements and the asanas are held for less time compared to a static
class. So the essence of dynamic yoga is to harmonize breathing and movement. This trend develops
a high degree of awareness, it is able to keep our awareness in the present moment, as a result of
which the mind becomes quieter, opening up to more meditative states.
